Summer Weekend Intensive: Organic Improv!
About this Event
Organic Improv is an exciting way for improvisers to get out of their own heads and comfort zones and break through their performance habits into new possibilities!
In this two day weekend intensive, students will learn and practice the skills needed to find the inspiration from the moment to weave individual scenes together into larger and more complex pieces that engage and surprise audiences. This intensive includes a showcase on Sunday, August 16 at 7:30pm. The prerequisite for this class is Level Five Improv at Stomping Ground or completion of an equivalent program with permission from the Training Center Director.
This course will focus on:
- Exploring suggestions in different ways as an ensemble.
- Using organic edits and openings to morph and connect scenes.
- Finding inspiration in physicality and the architecture of the stage.
- Creating callbacks and connections from organic discoveries and simple sameness.
- Using “Challenges” to create fun and engaging performance formats.
