About this Event

Sweet! Supporting our honeybees and sampling their hard work.

NEW! Celebrate National Honey Bee Day with a sweet and engaging dive into the world of our most beloved pollinators. In this class, we’ll explore the essential role honeybees play in North Texas ecosystems, the challenges they face, and the simple steps gardeners can take to support them. NHG proudly welcomes back County Extension Agent Anne LeSenne so you can learn practical, research‑based strategies to make your landscape safer and more pollinator‑friendly—no hive required.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Key threats facing honeybees and how gardeners can help
  • Best plants for supporting pollinators in North Texas
  • Safe pest‑management practices that protect beneficial insects
  • How nectar sources influence honey’s flavor, color, and aroma (with samples!)

The session concludes with a guided honey tasting where we’ll compare varietal honeys, learn how nectar sources influence flavor, and discuss what these differences reveal about local forage and bee health.

Sweet, science‑based, and perfect for bee‑curious gardeners of all levels!
