Continuing a tradition of 40 years, the University of Michigan-Flint Summer Vocal Academy offers instruction in music with a strong emphasis on singing to students from Flint and surrounding communities.Our Academy students experience a curriculum designed to nurture students through a variety of music classes and activities.
Students participate in choir, smaller vocal ensembles, vocal technique, movement, rhythm and music exploration classes.
They explore their artistic potential and collaborate together in the process of learning while developing musicianship and vocal skills and build lasting friendships with each other.
Our Academy students gain knowledge of music, singing and performance experiences under the instruction of master conductors and music educators.
Their work during the course of the program culminates in a full-length concert performance open to the public on the last day of Academy.
Classes are in session weekdays, 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the duration of the program
Closing Concert: July 17 at 6:00 p.m. at UM-Flint Theatre
Register by June 12 for Early Bird Pricing: $150
Regular Participation Fee: $180 | Registration is open until the first day of camp
