Come and kick start your summer with the Creative Piazza's 10 things to do away from your screens. Through out the summer holidays WYPW will be running our Switch off series of drop in print sessions to get you away from your devices and get you being creative. Come and enjoy some hands on printmaking fun for all ages. This summer, we're also introducing a brand new reward scheme to celebrate our most dedicated printmakers!
At each Summer Switch Off session, young people will be able to collect a special stamp on their reward card and, we’ve also got a brand new V.I.P. stamp, so you can proudly claim your status as a Very Important Printer!
Attend six or more sessions over the summer and you’ll earn a limited edition bronze wooden roller badge your very own creative badge of honour. Think of it like a Blue Peter badge, but inkier!
Stamps can be collected at each session, so come back often, get stuck in, and wear your roller badge with pride.
Our Family print sessions are drop in session for all ages aged 1-99 ( or beyond) and there's no booking necessary These are informal sessions that you can stay for 15 minutes at or an hour. Everyone is encouraged to participate and get inky. You don’t need to have your kids with you to join in, everyone is welcome!
There is no charge for the sessions but we do greatly appreciate donations for our 'pay what you feel' sessions, as they enable us to sustain these valuable community programmes.
(Tea and coffee is available to purchase during the session and a cosy corner is set up with soft rugs, cosy cushions and baby changing facilities nearby so you can dip in and out of the activity as you want to)

Full Summer Schedule:
Week 1 Stamp
Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd August 11am-2pm – Part of Yorkshire Day in the Creative Piazza
Switch off and STAMP! Step away from your screens and get your hands and feet inky as part of our Summer switch off. This week it’s all about stamping. Make your own foam stamps and use our growing stamp collection to tell a story. Or for the more adventurous, try stamping your foot print or shoe print on our collaborative piece. Printmaking fun for all ages.
Week 2 Roll
Thursday 7th & Saturday 9th August 11am-2pm
Switch off and ROLL! If you can roll it, we can print it. Bring your favourite toy cars, scooters and balls and lets roll it in ink!
Week 3 Press
Thursday 14th & Saturday 16th August 11am-2pm
Switch off and PRESS! Step away from your screens and get your hands inky as part of our Summer switch off. This week we are pressing textures in to Gelli plates and pressing plasticine in to textures. Inky fun for all ages.
Week 4 Squeeze
Thursday 21st & Saturday 23rd August 11am-2pm
Switch off and SQUEEZE! This week we will be squeezing ink through stencils, squeezing bubble wrap and tin foil and inking it up to produce some exciting prints. Print making fun for all ages.

Week 5 Stick

Switch off and STICK! Step away from your screens and get your hands inky as part of our Summer switch off. This week’s theme is STICK! We will be sticking materials on to collagraph plates, sticking foam shapes down to print from as well as sticking our art work up in our gallery to show off the wonderful work made over the summer, by YOU!
