Summer Steam Event – A Full Day of Family Fun at Bredgar Railway. Join us for a wonderfully nostalgic and fun-filled Summer Steam Event at Bredgar Railway — the perfect day out for families, little adventurers, and steam enthusiasts alike!Step aboard our charming narrow-gauge railway as steam and diesel locomotives carry you on a scenic ride through the countryside to our woodland station. With unlimited train rides all day, you can hop on and off as much as you like and soak up the magic of these beautiful engines in action. Beyond the railway, there’s a whole world to explore…
In the Main Field
Discover an impressive display of vintage engines, tractors, vehicles, and visiting exhibits. Climb aboard for tractor and trailer rides, and don’t miss the iconic American Fire Truck — brave visitors can even scale its incredible 105ft ladder!
The Engine Shed
Take a closer look at Bredgar’s fascinating collection of steam and diesel engines, vintage machinery, and cars. You’ll also find the hugely popular and extensive model railway, a firm favourite with visitors of all ages.
Fun for the Children
There’s plenty to keep little ones entertained all day long:
• A Teddy Bear Treasure Hunt with a prize to be won
• Best Dressed Teddy Competition (1pm outside the shop — don’t forget to bring your teddy in their Sunday best!)
• Garden games and outdoor play
• Train play table
• Colouring station
Food & Refreshments
Take a break at our much-loved Station Tea Room for a proper barista-style coffee and a slice of delicious homemade cake. Or enjoy something hot from the grill and relax with a picnic in the beautiful surroundings.

Event Details:Gates open at 10am, the day ends at 4.30pm

First train departs at 11:00am, with services running regularly until 3:30pm.
