Summer Solstice Paddle Out (Anclote Key)

On this spectacular Summer Solstice, we will launch from the north end of Fred Howard beach and paddle directly across the Open Waters to the southern end of Anclote Key! If anyone has not yet had the opportunity to give this a go, well now's the time! And, for those returning, we all know what a great paddle exploration trip this can be!
Note: the lighthouse is not accessible (except by a private tour donation of $300) during the summer.
Approximate distance of paddling is 4 MI on the short end, up to whatever anyone wants to paddle extra!
We'll be riding the outgoing tide to the Island, low tide is at noon, and riding the incoming tide going back. Once out there it will be very hard to just want to go back right away so consider a little extra time, pack a lunch/snacks just to enjoy!
Level of difficulty is moderate, due to open water conditions and distance. Inexperienced paddlers be advised!
There is no charge to join in, we are community! Parking is $5. Weather and conditions permitting!
