A nurturing day in the woodlands to experience deep connection and relaxation as we celebrate the Summer Solstice
About this Event

Join Forest Therapy Practitioner, Poppy Wildman, in private woodlands at Rushcliffe Country Park for a deeply nourishing day celebrating the Summer Solstice.

The Summer Solstice (sometimes known as Midsummer or Litha) celebrates the the longest day of the summer, when the sun reaches its annual zenith. It is the time to celebrate abundance, vitality and light, and to honour the the ever-turning cycles of the seasons.

It also the perfect opportunity to explore connection - to nature, to community, and to ourselves - as we move into the next phase of the seasons.

This event is designed to give you the opportunity to explore these connections, all while experiencing deep relaxation, playful creativity and soft fascination, all under the embrace of the woodland canopy.

Schedule:

- Meet and Introduction

- Forest Bathing - a deeply restorative practice, proven to boost our overall wellbeing and the wellbeing of the natural world through immersing our senses in the woodland

- Lunch - a nutrious homemade, vegan lunch, using wild, foraged ingredients

- Mindful Wildlife Wander - a chance to explore the woodlands and wider park area, focusing on the wildlife that we encounter along the way: from the summer fruiting trees to the fluttering butterflies and singing birds

- Nature Craft Activity - a chance to explore gentle, playful creativity through art, harnessing the power of the sun through cyanotype sun printing in the woodlands

- Reflective Sharing Circle - an opportunity to reflect on our themes and our time together, in a frienly and inclusive space

What is Forest Bathing?

Forest Bathing, or ‘shinrin yoku’ in Japanese, is the wonderfully restorative, mindfulness-based practice of immersing oneself in the forest, woodland or any green space,  using your senses to connect to the natural world around you.

The event will be guided by a qualified Forest Therapy Practitioner. Additional information will be sent out to all attendees 24 hours before the event by email - if you have not received it by then, please check your spam then message me at [email protected].
