About this Event
A gentle, seasonal workshop for women and children to celebrate the Summer Solstice through creativity, Slavic traditions and calming wellbeing practices. A supportive, child‑friendly session as part of the Make Share Heal programme.
Step into the energy of the longest day of the year — a time of light, growth and connection. This nurturing workshop invites you to slow down, reconnect with yourself and others, and explore simple creative rituals inspired by Slavic heritage.
Through storytelling, making and mindful techniques, you’ll experience a space to relax, ground yourself and gently support your emotional wellbeing.
What to expect:
Slavic Tradition & Storytelling
Begin with a gentle introduction to Summer Solstice traditions from Slavic culture — stories of nature, light, renewal and feminine wisdom. A moment to connect with cultural roots, shared history and seasonal rhythms.
Flower Crown Making (Wianki)
Create your own flower crown using fresh and natural materials — a symbol of beauty, intention and connection to nature. A calming, hands‑on activity suitable for both women and children.
Candle Decoration Ritual
Decorate a small candle as a personal symbol of light, hope or intention. Reflect on what you wish to invite into your life and create something meaningful to take home.
Grounding & Calm Techniques
Learn simple, practical techniques to manage anxiety, daily stress and overwhelm. Gentle breathing, body awareness and grounding exercises to help you feel more stable and centred.
Listening to Your Inner Voice
Explore how to soften inner tension and connect with your inner voice in a kind, supportive way. Learn small steps to build self‑trust and calm your thoughts.
Guided Relaxation & Meditation
A short, soothing meditation to help you settle your mind and reconnect with yourself. Designed to be accessible, simple and deeply calming.
Connection & Sharing
A relaxed, optional space for gentle sharing and connection in a safe, supportive environment.

Part of the Make Share Heal programme
This session is part of Make Share Heal — a 12‑month wellbeing programme supporting women aged 18–49. The programme focuses on improving emotional wellbeing, reducing isolation and building resilience through creative, shared experiences.
We warmly welcome migrant women, including those from Ukraine, Poland and Central & Eastern Europe, alongside local women seeking connection, support and community.
Optional one‑to‑one support and signposting to local services (housing, employment, mental health and childcare) are available. Multilingual support is offered.
