About this Event

Nip & Sip - Breast Health Awareness Workshop

Learn . Check . Connect . Empower

A fresh take on the traditional "Sip & Paint" experience but with PURPOSE

Nip - Awareness, education and confidence in checking your body

Sip - Drinks, painting, creativity and connection

About the Event

Join us for an awesome in-person event all about breast health! A safe, empowering and engaging workshop created for Black women and women of mixed Black heritage to come together, learn and connect.

This interactive session is designed to raise awareness around breast health in a way that feels accessible, supportive and real. You'll gain practical knowledge on how to check your breasts, recognise changes and understand the importance of early detection; while also exploring how lifestyle, movement and nutrition can play a role in prevention.

In Collaboration With

We're proud to be working alongside a range of organisations and facilitators to deliver this experience, including:

  • Breast Cancer UK
  • Touchy Feely
  • The Fitness Explorer (Darryl Edwards)

With additional support from:

  • Breast Cancer Now
  • Prevent Breast Cancer

Providing tailored resources and information designed with Black Women in mind.

Lived Experience

We are honoured to be joined by our host, Rebbecca Hemmings, who will be sharing her lived experience with Stage 4 Breast Cancer.

Her story brings a powerful and honest perspective, helping to open up important conversations and deepen understanding.

Food & Drinks

Enjoy a delicious Caribbean-inspired vegan whole food meal provided by I Heart Food in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We will also be providing free Tea & Coffee.

Creative Expereince

Take part in a guided painting session where you'll create your own artistic interpretation of the female form. Designed to encourage expression, confidence and connection.

What You'll Learn

  • How to check your breasts and recognise changes
  • Early signs and symptoms to look out for
  • The importance of early detection
  • The role of lifestyle, movement and nutrition in prevention

Your Voice Matters

Breast Cancer UK are keen to understand which everyday products you would like to see more research on in relation to prevention.

We recognise that much of the existing research has historically focused on white populations, leaving gaps in understanding around products and exposures commonly used by Black women.

This is your opportunity to share your voice and help shape future research, conversations and awareness.

What to Expect

  • Breast health education
  • Lived experience talk
  • Open and supportive discussions
  • Creative painting activity
  • Fresh vegan wholesome food
  • Nourishing food
  • A welcoming, community-focused environment
