Join us for an evening event at the Taylor Observatory!
About this Event

Join us at the Taylor Observatory on one of the longest days of the year to learn all about our star, the sun. Solar telescopes will be set up in the afternoon for guests to safely view the sun. In the evening enter the planetarium for an explanation of the seasons and to view a series of short films about sun.

Whether you're a seasoned astronomer or just curious about the cosmos, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience. This event is open to all Lake County families.

7:30-8:30: Planetarium Show
8:30-11:00: Tour of the night sky and telescopes

This event will be hosted by Lake County Office of Education's astronomy expert, Angelo Parisi.

  • Children under 5 are free
  • Adults are $10 each
  • Students are free
  • Families of 4 or more can register for a discounted price together for $5.
