Summer Sketchbook Session with Carys Wilson
About this Event
A fun, relaxed and playful session with Carys Wilson, celebrating the colours, sounds and shapes of the summer months: using drawing, painting, printing, textiles and collage techniques to create your own concertina sketchbook using images and words. A space to meet new faces, try out new media and techniques to create your own personal sunny summer journey, in a relaxed and supportive space.Suitable for beginners or more experienced artists. Tea and biscuits available. All materials are provided but please bring an apron.
Carys Wilson is an artist based near Penzance in West Cornwall, with a background in artist residencies and teaching across secondary, further and higher education, and adult learning. Currently a recipient of Cultivator Cornwall, she explores her own female experience, by pushing her body physically and emotionally, as her paintings become direct responses to, and memories of, her relationship with the landscape.
Studio Kind is situated at the far end of and within Barnstaple Pannier Market. During out of hours, the market can be accessed by a small wooden door from Butchers Row.
Nearest Car parks are the Cattle Market car park or Barnstaple Central. There is disabled parking on Boutport Street.
The bus station is a 5-minute walk away and the train station a 15-minute walk or bus journey of 10 minutes.
Our venue is wheelchair friendly and accessible to all. There are accessible toilets right next door.
