Do you have that “summertime, summertime sadness?” Say goodbye to summertime with a sunset paddle on Monee Reservoir. Relax in your kayak and listen to the natural sounds as it shifts from day to night. Bring your own kayak or we’ll provide everything you need, including a kayak, paddle and personal flotation device. Once off the water, hang by the fire to roast marshmallows and enjoy a beverage of your choice. (BYOB; beer and wine are permitted.)
Fee: $20 per person.
Age: Ages 21 or older.
Registration required by Wednesday, Sept. 9, by calling 815-722-9879 or online: https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/event-calendar/summer-send-off-paddle-(10181)
Wear clothing and shoes that can get wet. Prior paddling experience is strongly recommended as this is not an instructional program. The launch area is easily accessible by a paved sidewalk from the parking lot. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online (https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/americans-with-disabilities-act-information/request-accommodation-inclusion-service/) no later than 48 hours before the program.
