About this Event

Summer Science Series!

Step into the outdoors and discover new ways to connect with the natural world through art, poetry, and photography. In this hands-on class, we’ll visit a local park to practice the art of noticing — slowing down, observing closely, and capturing nature’s beauty through creative expression. Participants will learn simple techniques for nature journaling, writing poetry inspired by the landscape, and taking meaningful photographs that tell a story. No experience necessary — just bring your curiosity and a sense of adventure!

This event will take place rain or shine, please dress appropriately. Bring your own water bottle, sunscreen, appropriate walking shoes, etc. As the event draws near, we'll email specifics on parking and gathering location at the park. All ages welcome, kids must be accompanied by a guardian. Leashed pets welcome. For more information on location, see Meridian Habitat Park | Pierce County, WA - Official Website.

To see more in this series, including our Zoom event "Trails and Tales: A Natural History of Pierce County Parks", go to our Earth Matters Series | Pierce County, WA - Official Website.

No need to print or show tickets, this registration is to make sure we have enough space and materials, and to communicate final details to you!
