Summer Safety in the City

Long hot summer days and nights means more people are out and about going to and from work or visiting our many bars, restauarants and tourist attractions. The hussle and bustle provides the perfect conditions for opportunist criminals to prey on unsuspecting victims.

Birmingham Colmore wants everyone who visits our business district to have a welcoming and safe experience. This can be realistically achieved if our workers and visitors adopt some simple but effective personal safety considerations.

Together with our partners from West Midlands Safer Travel Partnership, Transport for West Midlands and West Midlands Trains, Birmingham Colmore is hosting this Summer Safety in the City event to share personal safety top tips and how to safely navigate our various public transport networks and hubs.

The event will consist of a short 'walk and talk' route to showcase some of the safety features available for use by the general public. There will be a requirement for attendees to stand comfortably throughout this event, therefore this needs to be fully considered prior to registration.

The meeting point for this event will be outside Snow Hill Railway Station at Snow Hill Square. Attendees are advised to wear clothing and footwear as appropriate to the expected weather conditions. At the end of the event we will hopefully have the facility to provide attendees with a choice of hot or cold drinks before departure.
