Any students finishing grades 6-12 this year are invited to become a Summer Reading Program volunteer this summer! Volunteers must fill out an application (available at the library) and complete a one hour training on any of the following dates: May 8, May 15, or May 22. At the end of the training session, volunteers will be able to choose the weekly time slot they want to work through June and July. Those going on vacation during part of that time may still apply! Extra hours may be signed up for once everyone has finished training.
Volunteers will primarily be helping kids register for the program and awarding prizes as they are earned. They may also be called upon to assist with programs, help prepare craft materials, and shelve books.
This program may NOT be used to fulfill court ordered community service hours, but may be used for all other service programs. A letter with hours worked can be provided any time after the end of the SRP.
