Join us in the Garden at Kettle Creek Pottery with Oil Painter, Lauren Kindle.
Located in the Village of Snydersville, our corner of the world includes a home built in 1783, 1800's Brick Chapel Pottery Studio, 1800's 1-room School House Art Studio/Gallery, brick patio garden, historic black walnuts and lovely field and mountain views perfect for painting!
Students will learn the basics of Oil Painting, color mixing and composition. We will learn by painting a series of plein air oil studies of the landscape/garden around Kettle Creek Pottery. By the end of the four weeks, each student will have completed a painting to take home!
NO experience necessary.
Although Lauren will explain many of the traditional rules of painting, her teaching method values experimentation, intuition and playfulness over perfectionism. We will learn from our mistakes, encounter “happy accidents” and have fun!

About Lauren Kindle: Lauren is a painter/fine artist who lives and works in Easton, PA. She was the recipient of the 2017 Artist of the Year from the Arts Community of Easton. That same year, she was awarded a partial scholarship for an artist residency with JSS in Civita, which gave her the opportunity to paint for 2 weeks in Civita Castellana, Italy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Art and Classics at Hampshire College in 2003. In addition to painting, Kindle is involved in her local arts community. For the past 7 years, she has managed a weekly figure drawing group at Lafayette College for local artists. She teaches private painting lessons and workshops from her downtown studio in Easton. She also teaches art classes at the Banana Factory in Bethlehem, PA.
