Take a Summer Plant Identification walk through the historic and magical Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park, New York with local Herbalist and Plant Spirit Healer, Karine Gordineer, as she identifies some of the most interesting medicinal plants, edibles and summer native wildflowers in this season of renewal.
"Vanderbilt is such a special and iconic location of the Hudson Valley with a wonderful diversity of plant species that I'm so excited to share with you!"
Participants will learn plant identification basics, how to identify local plants and wildflowers, and Karine will share her knowledge of indigenous and culinary usage of these summer plants.
Open to adults and children 12+. Class fee is $30, pre-registration is required, and space is limited.

Karine Gordineer, author of Plant Spirit Wisdom, has been practicing herbalism and the healing arts for over 35 years. She brings to her practice the wisdom and influence of her Algonquin and Ukrainian lineages, as well as extensive training and experience as a Master Herbalist, Certified Plant Spirit Healing Practitioner, Shamanic Practitioner, Certified Reiki Master, Sustainability Professional, Author, and Educator.
Karine is adept at blending the scientific and the sacred, the practical as well as the extraordinary. Karine teaches at the New York Botanical Garden online and in the Bronx, and has taught and lectured at the New York Open Center in NYC, the Algonquin Center for Cultural Studies, The American Holistic Nursing Association, The Howland Cultural Center, The Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, Westchester Community College Continuing Education, Marist College, as well as a variety of venues in the Hudson Valley and CT.
