Summer Open Skate Lessons

Our goal is to make sports accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

We want to create a safe space for people in the local area to learn a new skill (Skateboarding, Roller skating) specifically targeted at young girls/those from deprived backgrounds and ethnic minorities.

THIS EVENT IS DONATION BASED SO PLEASE PAY WHAT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH.

We have 3 Coaches on site who will be running the sessions.

Skateboarding equipment will be provided on site (Please note we do not provide Roller Skates ONLY skateboards, Pads and Helmets)

Refreshments will be provided by us.

The sessions are limited to 15 participants in order to make the most out of our coaches.

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO READ THROUGH AND SIGN A WAIVER AND IMAGE RELEASE FORM BEFORE ATTENDING.

Each participant by attending an event with Skate Gals & Pals CIC and/or Melanin Skate Gals & Pals, is aware that Skateboarding involves many risks, dangers and hazards including, but not limited to: changing weather conditions; exposure to extreme or inclement weather; failure of the equipment; loss of balance; difficulty or inability to control one’s speed and direction; variation or steepness in terrain; rapid or uncontrolled acceleration on hills and inclines; variation or changes in the riding surface including rocks, gravel and manmade structures such as mini ramps, kickers, benches, fun boxes, vert ramps, bowls, barrer and jumps; impact or collision with pedestrians, motor vehicles or other skateboarders; encounters with domestic or wild animals; failing to skate safely or within one's own ability; and NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASES, INCLUDING THE FAILURE OF THE RELEASES TO TAKE REASONABLE STEPS SAFEGUARD OR PROTECT ME FROM THE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS OF SKATEBOARDING OR USE OF THE EQUIPMENT.
EACH PARTICIPANT IS AWARE OF THE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH SKATEBOARDING AND FREELY ACCEPT AND FULLY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR LOSS RESULTING THEREFROM.
Image release:
Each Participant attending a Skate Gals & Pals CIC and/or Melanin Skate Gals & Pals CIC event, consents to be recorded, photographed, and videotaped related to the Event, and hereby irrevocably and perpetually authorises Skate Gals & Pals to copyright, publish, reproduce, exhibit, transmit, broadcast, televise, digitise, display, otherwise use, and permit others to use (i) the Participant’s name, image, likeness, and voice, and (ii) all photographs, recordings, videotapes, audiovisual materials, writings, statements, and quotations of or by the Participant obtained related to the recording of the Event (collectively, the “Materials”), in any manner, form, or format whatsoever now or hereinafter created, including on the Internet.
