SUMMER of '86 at Holiday Lights Fair

When I think of Christmas, one of the places I picture is the Expo Hall at the Du Quoin State Fair Holiday Lights Fair. Playing there has become something I look forward to every holiday season. There’s just something magical about that place, and getting to share it with my family makes it even more special.
On December 20th at 7 p.m., I’ll be back with SUMMER of ’86 for my final show of 2026. I can’t think of a better setting to finish another year of music.
One of my favorite parts is that my kids get to come along. They get to shop, look around, and have a good time while I perform. I get to do what I love while knowing they’re making their own Christmas memories nearby. Those are the moments I appreciate more and more as they grow up. It’s a show for me, but it’s also a holiday tradition we get to enjoy together.
For this last performance of the year, I’ll be bringing the music and nostalgia you know from SUMMER of ’86, with Christmas favorites mixed into the evening. My regular set reaches from 1950 all the way through 2010, with a heavy dose of the ’80s. During the holidays, I love making room for the songs that only get their moment this time of year—the ones that bring back a childhood memory or have you singing along before you’ve even thought about it.
Music has always been a big part of how I remember different seasons of my life. Christmas is no exception. A familiar voice, a melody, or a chorus can bring back the feeling of being a kid and waiting for the holidays to arrive. Getting to sing those songs while my own kids enjoy the fair is a pretty special way to bring it all together.
And since this is my final show of 2026, I want to say thank you to everyone who has spent part of this year with me. Whether you came to a show, sang from your table, brought a friend, or stopped to talk afterward, I appreciate you being part of it.
I really hope you’ll join me at the Expo Hall. Bring your family, enjoy the Holiday Lights Fair, do a little shopping, and spend part of your evening with me.
