Summer Nights: Poetry & Ice Cream
Mondays in July & August at 6:45 p.m.
At its best, summer is a season of rest and joy – tapping into the ancient, sacred practice of sabbath restoration. This summer, we’ll be using the poetry of Mary Oliver to help us reconnect with this dimension of summertime, savoring what she calls its “luminous sprawl of gifts.” And ice cream too – obviously. Join us on Monday nights on the St. John’s patio: July 14 & 28; August 11 & 25; at 6:45 p.m. for a time of reading and reflecting on poetry and scripture, prayer and song, tasty ice cream, and just being together.
Can’t make it on Monday nights? Copies of the devotional Summer Days: A Companion to Mary Oliver’s “Devotions” are available for pick up at church – the perfect companion for your summer travels and church away from church!
