Summer Labs: Day 3 Space Inspired Sculptures (Wed 29th)
About this Event
This summer holiday, join The MoSAIC and Science Creates Outreach for an exciting one-day SciArt masterclass learning about Space and Sculpture.
Journey beyond the night sky with interdisicplinary artist Gaz Lawrence in this hands-on workshop where science, storytelling and sculpture collide. Participants will explore the true 3D structure of constellations by building collaborative models from sticks and marshmallows, discovering how familiar star patterns look completely different when viewed from new perspectives. Using these edible models as inspiration, we'll reimagine the stories behind the constellations and invent new celestial myths before designing and creating our own 'anamorphic' sculptures: artworks that transform into recognisable images when viewed from just the right angle. Perfect for curious creators, aspiring scientists and imaginative thinkers who love to see the world differently.
Designed for curious 11-15 year olds, this hands-on workshop blends science and creativity, giving young minds the chance to explore cutting-edge research and turn it into thought-provoking visual art.
This is the perfect opportunity for budding artists and future innovators to think outside the box, experiment, and create!
Note: Snacks will be provided but please bring a packed lunch. Your child witll have plenty of support on the day with experienced safeguarding Level 3 trained staff with DBS and QTS. Early bird sales until May 31st, more details to follow after.
