Every child deserve access to Summer Camp. The 5th Annual Summer in The D camp is back and better than ever! We are thrilled to invite up to 50 Detroit-resident youth ages 10–13 to our high-energy Tennis & Tech program. The unique summer experience where active play meets cutting-edge STEM and entrepreneurship. Every morning, campers will learn and play tennis, the healthiest sport in the world. After lunch, then come the creativity where they will learn Website development, JavaScript programming, and business model ideation through the lean canvas activities. Here is what our campers have to look forward to:
Morning Tennis Sessions: Get moving with fun coaching and games designed to master tennis fundamentals while building fitness, teamwork, and confidence on the university's tennis courts.
Refuel at UDM: Enjoy a free lunch buffet served daily in the University of Detroit Mercy’s Titan Dining Room.
Afternoon Tech & Biz Workshops: Dive into the world of coding with web development basics and JavaScript fundamentals. Campers will also brainstorm their own business ideas and build a Lean Canvas to bring their entrepreneurial visions to life! ️
Epic Live Demos: Experience high-tech drone technology with a presentation from the Police Department and watch a spectacular science show from UDM’s Department of Chemistry—complete with nitrogen-frozen ice cream!
This camp offers a memorable mix of physical activity, practical tech skills, and hands-on science to help students move confidently between play and problem-solving. We can't wait to see you there!
