Summer In The City will feature live music, an auction, raffle and ‘60s costume and dance contests. Tickets are on sale now for $60 (plus applicable fees) per person. The ticket price includes admission, food and a drink ticket.

Those who attend Summer In The City are encouraged to dress in their groovy ‘60s attire or like their favorite ‘60s movie star or musician. Richmond’s own, Anthony Cosby, Jr., will serve as emcee and will teach popular dances from the ‘60s so get ready to twist, jerk, pony, and swim the night away. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed male and female, and attendees will then get to show off their dance moves and compete in a dance contest. Me And The Moon Band will perform covers from the ‘60s to today, as well as their original music.

Event proceeds will support educational outreach, mentoring, internships and scholorships that Cadence offers year-round for area youth. These programs include STAGE WRITE, a college preparation and workforce readiness program, JAMMIN' IN JUNE & JULY summer theatre camps, Rehearsal & Performance program and TRAIN Pre-Professional Training for acting on screen and stage.

Auction items include memberships to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, The Science Museum of Virginia, Children’s Museum of Richmond, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and VisArts. Tickets to some of Richmond’s most exciting theatre events will be available for a Broadway In Richmond musical, Firehouse Theatre, Virginia Rep, Richmond Shakespeare, Cadence, Richmond Triangle Players, Virginia Stage Company and Richmond International Film Festival. Sports-themed tickets and experiences will also be on hand including tickets to Washington Nationals and Richmond Flying Squirrels games and a one-week soccer camp with the Richmond Spiders. Additional items include exquisite wine, fresh produce from Seasonal Roots, a five-course meal and wine pairings for six, a picnic package and fine dining at some of Richmond’s best restaurants. Enjoy getaways to The Jefferson Hotel and Wintergreen, a professional organizing session with Get Organized RVA, as well as health and beauty certificates for massages, private yoga lessons and more.
