Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

St. Giles Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce that our highly successful Youth Drama program will return with three performances of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Patterson Hall.

"Sha la la, Joseph, you’re doing fine! You and your dreamcoat, ahead of your time!” One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors.

Told entirely through song with the help of a main character Narrator, the musical follows preferred son Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in J*il after refusing the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh. Joseph’s solution to Egypt’s famine elevates him to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and reunites him with his family." (from the Concord Theatricals website)

ABOUT ST. GILES

St. Giles Presbyterian Church is a faith-based organization located in the Westhampton neighborhood of Richmond, VA and is dedicated to create an enriched environment where people from all backgrounds can Encounter Jesus.

St. Giles Youth Drama was begun in the Summer of 2023 with the inaugural production of Godspell Jr. Since then, this program has been offered tuition-free to all youth in the metro-Richmond area. St. Giles Youth Drama has also performed The Sound of Music Youth Edition, Fiddler on the Roof Jr. and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. 'Joseph' is this program's fifth production.

RESERVATION INFORMATION

There is no charge to attend this production. Due to limited seating, we are asking audience members to reserve complimentary general admission tickets online in advance.

PARKING and ACCESSIBILITY

St. Giles has ample parking between two onsite lots and ample street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. ADA parking can be found in the large lot on Greenway Lane and streetside on Tuckahoe Boulevard. We are able to accommodate guests with wheelchairs and their companions.
