An evening of authentic storytelling and country-folk songs, best served fireside under a starry night. Stretching from the humid tropical north, across the coastlines of Newcastle, to the rocky outrops of Uralla, this summer house concert will be a heart-felt and intimate look into regional narrative songwriting.Local folk-artist Jhana Allan (Anaiwan/Uralla) is joined by two friends, Anousha Victoire (Awabakal/Newcastle) and Alice Cotton (Gulumoerrgin/Darwin) off the back of their performances at Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Alice Cotton
Raised in Darwin, Alice Cotton’s compelling live presence and distinctive songwriting ‘hits you with the depth and breadth of her storytelling’ (triple j). Fresh off a finalist nomination in the NT Music Awards and the release of her debut EP (produced by Nick Huggins), Alice Cotton is solidifying her place as one of Australia's exciting new voices. Her genre-crossing approach appeals to fans of Paul Kelly and Stella Donnelly, while her storytelling roots keep listeners coming back for more.
Recent highlights include performances at the cosmic country festival New Farm, New Country, support slots for Charm of Finches and Liz Stringer, and co-writing with David Garnham for The Stuart Highway Sessions.

Jhana Allan
Born in Hobart, Tasmania and now making her home in Uralla, northern NSW, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jhana Allan has had a long road to finding her voice as a musician. On her newest sophomore studio release, “Fake Paradise”, she explores a cyclical emotional addiction that has plagued her throughout her entire adult life.
Drawing on inspiration from musicians such as The Weather Station, Sam Amidon, PJ Harvey, and Lucy Thorne, the album moves through folk, jazz, and rock soundscapes, retaining a throughline of Allan’s visceral and emotive writing and singing, and grounded by her layered vocal presence.
