Summer Horse Camp

Join up for our first of two summer sessions in the company of horses. This four day camp empowers children ages 8-12 y/o during equine assisted activities as well as learning foundations of horsemanship.
Brief Overview
Introduce horsemanship and character development through:
A. Introduce equine terminology, reference points, grooming equipment.
B. Introduce equine handling;
Catch, halter, pick up and clean hooves, lead, gate management, release.
C. Introduce self care via equine assisted activities; peripheral awareness, at-tension > at ease, recircle, identify resources.
D. Social engagement through group activities empowering strategies and flexibility.
E. Character development through engagement with horses and peers. Focus on communication skills both verbal and nonverbal with emphasis in listening.
F. Group Art Project
G. Debrief each day over snack time about personal “take aways”
We will not be performing mounted activities during this camp session.
