Summer Haus '26 Families,
This summer we're doing something we've never done before..
On Friday, June 19th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Greater Lawrence Technical School in Andover, we're hosting the first-ever Summer Haus Welcome Day. This is a mandatory family event for every camper enrolled in Summer Haus '26, regardless of which week your child starts.
Here's why this exists.
Every year I give the same director speech on the first Monday of every week ..because every week new families arrive who haven't heard it. The speech covers who we are, what we stand for, what your child can expect, and what we expect from them. It's important. It deserves to be said properly, once, to every family, in the same room, before the summer starts. That's what June 19th is.
But more than that ..Welcome Day is your family's entry point into the Summer Haus community. Your child will meet their counselor. They'll meet other campers before the pressure of Day 1. They'll walk the grounds. They'll know where to go, what to do, and what to expect when they show up on their first morning. That confidence is not a small thing. It changes how Week 1 goes for your child, and it changes how the whole summer goes.
For parents, this is the only time all summer where I have every family in the same room. Every question answered once. Pickup and drop-off procedures. What to bring and not bring. Communication channels. Medical protocols. Field trip policies. The Haus Bucks system. All of it ..covered completely, with time for real questions at the end. You will leave knowing exactly what this summer is going to be for your family.
Here is what to expect on June 19th:
5:30 PM — Doors open. Check-in, welcome bags, meet the staff.
5:45 PM — Opening Ceremony. This is the speech. All families together.
6:15 PM — Age group breakouts. Kids go with their counselors for ice breakers and a tour of their zone. Parents get the full operational briefing.
6:40 PM — Facility tour together. See the grounds, the setup, the full space.
6:55 PM — Live Q&A. Every question gets answered.
7:15 PM — Social time. Campers play. Families connect. First friendships get made.
7:30 PM — We close. You leave ready.

Please RSVP by June 13th so we have accurate headcount for materials, staff stations, and setup.
This event is two hours. I am asking you to protect that two hours. The families who attend Welcome Day show up to Week 1 with a completely different level of confidence and readiness than the ones who don't. Your child feels the difference. The counselors feel the difference. I feel the difference.
This is not a box to check. This is the start of the summer.
