Summer Foraging Walk for Kids (and their adults!)

Children are natural foragers. They enjoy collecting, gathering, sorting, and spending endless hours outdoors. Foraging is a way for your family to spend quality time together while educating your children about where food comes from. Join The 3 Foragers as we explore the grounds, fields, and forest for greens, flowers, berries, and mushrooms. They are a family from SE Connecticut with decades of experience foraging and sharing their experiences online, in a book and on educational walks with the public. Original handouts are provided for both adults and kids. Meets at DPNC. The 3 Foragers are a family from southeastern Connecticut who have spent over 21 years exploring the edible plants and fungi of New England. They focus on identifying, photographing, and cooking with both native and invasive species, promoting a family-friendly and environmentally sustainable approach to foraging. Through their blog, Facebook page, Instagram, and book, they share original recipes and practical advice to help others incorporate these wild foods into their diets, encouraging a deeper connection with nature and responsible harvesting practices.
