Summer Fiction Series with Heart-Centered Writing at Shelborne is a three-part writing workshop series for anyone who wants to better understand the essential elements of fiction craft — and practice using them in their own work:
June 15: Elements of a Scene
July 20: Silence, Space and Structure
August 17: The Art of the Ending
Led by writer and coach Neysa King, each session will focus on a different craft element, using beautiful published writing, guided discussion, and generative prompts to help you explore how stories are built from the inside out.
This series is designed for fiction writers, memoirists, poets, journalers, artists, and anyone curious about storytelling. You do not need to have a project in progress or identify as an experienced writer to attend. Each workshop can stand alone, but together, the three sessions will offer a deeper foundation in how to create vivid, emotionally resonant writing.
Come for craft, inspiration, creative practice, and meaningful connection in one of Miami Beach’s most beautiful spaces. No writing experience is needed — only curiosity, openness, and a willingness to write.
