Vivaldi’s Gloria is one of the most popular pieces of choral music and needs little introduction. From its energetic Gloria and
Quoniam movements and extended Cum Sancto fugue, to sumptuous and florid solo movements such as the Domine Deus
and Qui sedes, the Gloria is a Baroque masterpiece and Vivaldi’s best-known choral work. It is programmed alongside Haydn’s
Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo, also known as the “Little Organ Mass”, and Te Deum for the Empress Marie Therese. This
programme will be performed with organ accompaniment.
