Summer Ceramics
About this Event
Discover the art of ceramics in this hands-on two-week workshop for students ages 16 and older. Scott Thayer, ceramics artist and local educator will serve as the instructor. Participants will learn foundational hand-building techniques to create their own unique vase or bowl from clay. During the first session, students will shape and construct their piece while exploring basic ceramic design principles. The second session will focus on glazing techniques, allowing participants to add color and personality before their work is fired. Students must attend both class dates to complete their project.
No prior ceramics experience is required, making this class perfect for beginners as well as those looking to expand their creative skills. By the end of the course, each student will have a finished, functional ceramic piece to take home. All materials will be provided.
