Nature of Reality Mural Unveiling

Info: Kari Blak is an American fine artist, public muralist, illustrator, and designer born in Chicago, whose artistry concentrates on environmental and socioeconomic issues. Through colorful, illustrative imagery he employs a variety of styles from graphic to realistic. Kari often juxtaposes conceptual ideas of social justice with a refreshingly optimistic aesthetic. He has worked primarily as a muralist for the past decade as a lead designer and lead artist painting public and private murals throughout the nation. Influenced by a deep appreciation for French, Japanese and American animation, as well as the Saturday morning cartoons that fueled his creativity in youth. Kari has crafted captivating illustrations for several books, carrying the visual storytelling of children’s books, graphic novels and short stories. He has also provided design services and murals for companies such as Whole Foods, Mariano’s and Ferrara Candy Company among many others.
