About this Event
5-Day Robotics and Coding Summer Camp for Kids 6 Years and Older (Mon-Fri, 9AM-12PM) packed with fun, engaging, educational, and rewarding activites. We have over 50 activites for hands-on learning.
Come join us for an exciting summer camp focused on Robotics and Coding! Dive into the world of robotics with hands-on activities. Kids learn how to build and program robots, and unleash their creativity. Our experienced instructors will guide you through hands-on activities and challenges. Kids make new friends who share their passion for STEM and have a blast exploring the possibilities of Robotics and Coding. Don't let your kids miss out on this awesome opportunity to expand their skills and have fun!
What do kids learn in our Summer Camp?
I (an experienced engineer) and my son (an engineering student at Purdue) have created our own robots from custom-crafted wooden and 3D printed pieces. They are specifically designed to inspire creativity in kids. Kids will engage in many hands-on activities that are building blocks of a fully functional robot. They will learn about various components they need to build a robot, how each component works, how they all fit together to make a robot. They will learn about using motors (180 degrees and 360 degrees) to create various movements. They will learn programming concepts for robotics. They will learn to control various movements of a robot, range of movement, speed of movements etc..Some of the initial activities (but not limited to) include:
- Build a Robotics Gate, Traffic Light Controller, and Windmill. Here is a
- Operate a Robotic Gate using a single 180 motor and code
- Control a traffic light 3 LEDs (Red, Green, Yellow) using code
- Operate a windmill using 360 degrees motor and code (control speed and direction)
- Read data from a sensor and take specific actions based on sensor input
- Control multiple components using a single microcontroller and code
- Learn to write code using various examples to make the robot do different actions and see results immediately
Project:
After doing the activities listed above, they will get a pretty good understanding of how the core components work and how to write code to control them. They will then build a fully functional robot that plays the drum. They will build this in 3 phases and learn coding that goes with each phase. And finally they will get to tweak the code or write their own code to make the robot play different drum beats. Basically, they will learn to create their own music.
Here is the they will build and program.
