What if summer felt like it used to?
A little messy. A little unpredictable. Full of curiosity, creativity, and time spent outside.
At Lake Thoreau’s Outdoor Adventure Camp, kids will build, explore, experiment, and follow their ideas wherever they lead. From hands-on challenges to creative problem-solving, every day is about trying new things, asking big questions, and having fun in the process.
And for the grand finale… we go BIG.
Campers will gather for a one-of-a-kind, supervised tower drop experiment at the University of Southern Mississippi—watching as objects are launched from the 10th floor of the Johnson Science Tower to see what happens. What splats? What survives? What surprises us? There’s only one way to find out.
This camp is a day camp that meets each at the Lake Thoreau Environmental Center. we will take field trips each day in USM vehicles to visit local sites. Check-in will be between 7:30 and 8:30 A.M. each day, and checkout will occur between 4:45 and 5:30 P.M.
