Hikers begin on the Sulphur Springs Trail and will cross Mountain Creek via footbridges. The trail is dotted with shortleaf pines and leads past an ancient shelter over the creek. Following this, you'll come upon the lush woodlands and the tumbling waters of Mountain Creek.
As you progress, the trail passes by a 120-year-old dam that leads to the picturesque Mountain Lake. The trail ascends, following a ravine with progressively steeper sides. The trail transitions to the Kanuga Trail, providing pleasant views through the forest. The Blue Ridge Mountains create a breathtaking backdrop, which can be seen through the rolling hills. You may see various animals on this trail, such as birds, deer, and snakes
