ICD Retreats inspire youth to see diabetes as a source of strength and a positive force in their lives. Whether you’re gathered around the campfire or out on the trail, you’ll connect with others who understand your journey, build lasting friendships, and grow skills that help you lead within the diabetes community - or simply become your best self.
What to expect
Set among beautiful hardwood and pine forests, Sugar Valley Farm is the perfect fall destination for adventure and connection. As the leaves turn, you’ll take part in outdoor team challenges, rock wall climbing, and canoeing on the water, along with hikes through colourful trails and campfire reflections under crisp autumn skies. Each day blends fun, skill-building, and diabetes management in a supportive, empowering environment. You’ll learn from mentors, share experiences with peers, and leave feeling confident, inspired, and ready for your next adventure.
Who can join
Open to high school and post-secondary students, as well as young adults (ages 14+) living with type 1 diabetes. Friends without T1D are welcome too!
