- Spine boarding and Spine Injury Management
- Sideline Concussion Management / Baseline and Post Injury Testing
- Catastrophic Upper Extremity Evaluation
- Catastrophic Lower Extremity Evaluation
- Heat Illness; Prevention and Management
Learning Objectives:
- Differentiate various types of upper and lower extremity injuries
- Develop a sequential diagnosis procedure for patients with upper and lower extremity injuries
- Determine the most appropriate treatment plan for patients with upper and lower extremity injuries
- Review adequate equipment removal and spine boarding skills
- Summarize the causes of heat illness that impact the athlete and associated treatment protocols.
- Differentiate surgical and non-surgical treatment options based of athletic injury severity, patient characteristics and lifestyle.
- Formulate differential diagnosis and procedures for the patient or athlete presenting with particular symptoms.
- Review proper assessment and management of on-field injuries and subsequent treatment protocols to return athlete to activity.

Continuing Education Unit Designation:
Athletic Trainers: Northwell Health Rehabilitation Network (BOC AP#: P8350) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Certified Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 3 Hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

Long Island Jewish Medical Center, a member of Northwell Health, is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Physical Therapy as an approved provider of physical therapy and physical therapist assistant continuing education. Participants will receive a certificate at the completion of this course for 3.6 contact hours.
Cancellation Policy: Individuals who did not register online must confirm their cancellation in writing to the Northwell Health Sports Medicine by two days before a lecture course. All written cancellations will be forwarded to [email protected]. An administrative fee of 20% will be retained for all lecture cancellations. No refunds will be given after the cancellation date as stated above or for no-shows.
