The Suffolk City School Board Work Session will begin at 5 PM, followed by the regular school board meeting at 7 PM.
A School Board Work Session is designed to allow board members and administrators to engage in in-depth discussions about key topics, upcoming initiatives, and strategic priorities. Work sessions are typically more informal than regular board meetings and do not usually involve formal votes. Instead, they provide an opportunity for board members to review data, ask questions, and collaborate with school division staff on potential solutions or future actions before items are placed on the agenda for formal consideration.
A School Board Meeting is the formal, public meeting where official business of the board is conducted. During these meetings, the board votes on policies, budgets, contracts, personnel recommendations, and other matters that impact the school division.
