Sue Foley is a multi–award-winning blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose reputation has been built not on hype, but on decades of relentless touring, masterful playing, and deep respect from peers and critics alike. Her latest album, One Guitar Woman: A Tribute to the Female Pioneers of Guitar, earned a 2025 GRAMMY® nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album, cementing her place among the most vital voices in contemporary blues. Blending Texas blues grit with refined fingerstyle technique, Foley delivers performances that are both explosive and intimate—whether she’s wielding her signature pink paisley Fender Telecaster or a hand-built flamenco guitar.Born in Ottawa and forged musically in Austin, Texas, Foley began performing professionally at just 16 and quickly became a standout on the legendary Antone’s label. Since her 1992 debut Young Girl Blues, she has toured internationally and shared stages with icons including B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Billy F Gibbons. Her accolades speak volumes: five consecutive Blues Music Awards for Traditional Blues Female Artist (2020–2025), a JUNO Award, and the 2024 Maple Blues Lifetime Achievement Award.
