A WEEKEND WORKING CLINIC WITH SUE BUCKLEY 30th -31st May. Cost $370We’re thrilled to be hosting another clinic with the legendary Sue Buckley on the weekend of May 30 & 31 and registrations are now open!
An email has been sent to all members with instructions on how to register, so check your inbox. There are only 12 riding places available that will fill super fast, so please read the following information carefully so you don’t miss out.
Working Equitation is often referred to as ‘the fun way to train seriously’ and Sue’s visits have been the highlight of the year for our club for many years.
If you haven’t yet had the pleasure, Sue Buckley comes from the US and is highly qualified, as an NCAS Coach, Working Equitation Trainer and Judge. She has over 45 years professional experience and is highly sought after by riders of all disciplines.
This is why Sue is so well loved by everyone who works with her - from beginners and nervous riders, right through to the accomplished competitors and professional riding instructors.
Sue has a natural gift for setting up both the horse and rider for success. She carefully teaches how to negotiate each obstacle and facilitates relaxation and harmony between each horse and rider as they complete the full obstacle course at their own pace.
In the mornings, Sue will cover the essential flatwork and lateral work necessary for completing the working equitation course. This is referred to as the ‘working dressage’ phase of the sport.
In the afternoons, you’ll ride through the whole obstacle course individually, and receive Sue’s quality guidance and feedback. Riding the obstacle course is known as the ‘ease of handling’ phase.
Sue’s lessons are taught in groups of four, and we carefully place participants in a group with compatible riders of a similar level and fitness. This clinic is suitable for horses and riders of all disciplines and levels of experience and no special gear is required.
You'll be riding in the comfort of the indoor arena, with some afternoon sessions held outside in the sea container paddock and X Country course (if weather permits).
This weekend clinic offers the perfect introduction for riders new to Working Equitation. It also provides Sue’s ongoing students with a valuable opportunity to further build on their existing skills. As always, clinic spots are offered exclusively to AARC club members.
The cost of the two day clinic is $370 for the whole weekend. This full amount can be paid at the time of booking, or you can opt to make a $100 deposit today to secure your place and the balance by Friday May 15th.
The clinic runs from 9am to 4pm on both days and participants are asked to bring a plate of food to share for lunch each day. Camping is available at the AEC for horses and riders. See AEC website for details and camping fees.
To book your spot, please email us at [email protected] asap after making your $100 deposit into the AARC account. That will secure your booking.
Once the clinic is full, we will open a wait list for any cancellations. Members and non members are all welcome to fence sit free of charge, and to help out on the course. So feel free to invite all your friends.
