LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Understand the New Ohio Graduation Requirements.
- Examine Section 7 of the IEP, specifically supports and accommodations, curriculum modifications and Individual Pathways and how they relate to Course Completion.
- Discuss Competency Requirements and options to show competency as well as alternative assessments for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
- Understand EACH of the State Diploma Readiness Seals
- Discuss Readiness and an IEP; an opportunity for Individualization
ABOUT YOUR PRESENTER:
Dee Marks brings a wealth of experience to this topic, “Preparing for a Successful Transition” from her time as an Educational/Mental Health Student Associate for the Central Ohio Education Service Center, an Adjunct Professor at Ohio Dominican University, an OCALI Presenter, Greenleaf Job Training Services Board Member, and her current role as a Parent Mentor for Dublin City Schools. However, her most valuable experience has come from parenting two children with disabilities. Dee is a strong advocate of meaningful work for people of all abilities and believes in the power of collaboration, communication and planning to help people reach their employment goals.
