>Understand the classifications of periodontal disease and implant health and disease
> Undersanding biofilm and the role it plays in gingivitis and periodontal disease as well as mucositis and peri-implantitis
> Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) protocol and why it is indespensable for the pre-treatement, post-operative and life-long maintenance of periodontal and implant patients
>Effectively be able to perform AIRFLOW Max, PERIOFLOW and PIEZON PI Max treatment for periodontal patients and around implants

Dr Marina Kamel is a specialist periodontist based at Westside Perio and Implants in Brisbane, Australia. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2012. Thereafter, she completed her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) and specialist training in implant dentistry at the University of Sydney, Australia in 2019. She was awarded a membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (MRACDS) in the Periodontics specialty as well as obtaining fellowship (FRACDS) in general dental practice.
Dr Kamel was awarded the prestigious FG Christensen medal for obtaining the highest ranking in the primary RACDS examinations across Australasia. She has received multiple academic and research awards during her professional career including the reputable Judith and Dr. Mario Adamo Implant Innovation Scholarship for her research work as well as the Osteology Foundation Research Award for her research in 2020. Dr Kamel is the President of the Australian Society of Periodontists (ASP) and the Vice President for the Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) in Queensland. She is an active member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Australian & New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), and the Australian Dental Association (ADA).
Dr Kamel has been involved in clinical teaching at both the University of Otago and the University of Sydney. She has contributed numerous publications in international peer-reviewed research journals and has presented her research at international dental congresses. She is an enthusiastic and confident practitioner who is highly interested in continuous clinical development, research and new opportunities to express herself.

If the SDA cancels a course, registrants will be offered a full refund (excluding Eventbrite fees). Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of a course, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund (excluding Eventbrite fees) or transfer registration to the same course at the new, future date.
Registration Cancellation by Participant If you are unable to attend the SDA, we welcome substitute delegates attending in your place at no additional cost but they must meet the registration requirements.
