Sub Rosa: The Emperor's Feast

A new world is in bud. Gather with fellow rebels and revelers at The Emperor’s Feast to take part in revolutions both personal and societal.

Inspired by the occult tradition of sharing arcane knowledge “sub rosa,” or “under the rose,” this immersive evening offers the opportunity for attendees to get closer to themselves and one another within a theatrical, ritualistic container steeped in tradition and gritty glamour.

Lounge like the Romans did on velvet couches while you chat with mysterious characters. Sit under the roses and bask in the heady music that floats, played by wandering musicians. Witness acts of transmutation, be blessed by the Priestess herself, and uncover knowledge only the initiated have access to. Enter a confessional and share from the heart under the protection of anonymity. Take in the mystery of the night without divulging your own secret or whisper clandestine words to many fellow guests. When you enter this secret society, you decide how deep to go.

Indulge in Dionysian libations or sip intentionally crafted rose tea. The feast lasts for two nights only. Participants must be 18+.

Characters will talk to you and expect you to respond. No one will touch you without your consent and we ask that you do not touch performers unless they ask you to do so.

You are a character within the world of The Emperor's Feast (more will be revealed to those who have tickets!) and what you do will help to shape how the evening unfolds.

We invite audiene members to engage with big questions and we are prepared to help you grapple with them! This is why we are here. Immersive doesn't mean just on the surface, it means we invite you to truly participate in meaning making.

AND we know everyone has different comfort levels and that sometimes you don't feel up for a deep conversation or a lot of interaction. If that's you, you will still have a beautiful experience and be immersed in the world of The Emperor's Feast. Sometimes witnessing is the most important participation of all.

Accessibility

The entrance to The Emperor's Feast is wheelchair accessible. All areas within the Feast are wheelchair accessible, except for the chancel which has two steps up.

The space is currently equipped with one wheelchair accessible restroom.

We are not able to provide ADA or signing due to the participatory nature of this show.
