About this Event
San Juan Studio Workshop
May 16, 2026

San Juan, Puerto Rico
This is a focused, hands-on studio workshop built around how I actually work, shoot, and think. No filler, no hype, no shortcuts. Just clear methods, real decision-making, and practical guidance you can apply immediately to your own work.
I’ve spent over 15 years refining a visual approach that balances eroticism, control, intention, and respect for the subject. This class is about helping you sharpen your eye, improve consistency, and stop guessing when you’re on set. Whether you shoot glamour, boudoir, fashion, or fine art portraiture, the principles translate.
Making your work stronger
Standing out has very little to do with trends and everything to do with quality. We’ll focus on how to elevate your images through lighting choices, composition, pacing, and restraint. The goal is not to copy my style, but to strengthen yours so your work feels deliberate and confident instead of accidental.
We’ll also talk honestly about value. Better work changes how people perceive you, how collaborators respond, and how clients engage. Business looks different for everyone depending on genre, city, and goals, so discussion and questions are encouraged throughout.
In-studio, hands-on learning
This is not a lecture-only class. You’ll see live demonstrations of how I light and direct, and you’ll also shoot alongside me. I’ll work with you directly while you’re photographing, giving feedback on framing, intent, and technical execution in real time.
Questions are welcome at any point. There are no “hold it till the end” rules here. The environment is relaxed, practical, and collaborative.
Working with a professional model
Attendees will shoot with a professional model during the workshop, giving you the chance to apply what you’re learning immediately. This isn’t about rushing through poses. It’s about understanding how to build images that feel intentional, controlled, and finished straight out of camera.
Who this is for
If you’re serious about improving your work and want a clearer understanding of why certain images work and others don’t, this workshop will give you tools that last beyond a single shoot.
All scheduled times are subject to minor changes. Attendees will be notified by email if anything shifts.
Spots are limited. If this sounds like something you’ve been missing in your learning, I’d love to have you there!

Lighting Approaches Workshsop
Host: Nino Batista
Info: Light is integral to how a mood is conveyed in a portrait, and how you complement or contrast it is something Nino loves to explore. He will review several lighting setups, and crucially, will explain *why* he lights the way he does, covering the philosophy and vision behind using light in intimate portraiture. Mixing and matching strobes with ambient, and the willingness to improvise with excitement, not disappointment.
