About this Event
Sarkis Antikajian, our “national treasure” artist tucked away in Cheshire, Oregon, has recently published his memoirs, “An Artist’s Odyssey, from Dream to Reality.” Sarkis will be signing and reading from these memoirs at a reception held in his honor at Studio 7 Gallery & Events on June 23rd, 1-3:30. In addition, local published poets will be reading poetry written specifically about several of Sarkis’ pieces (Ekphrastic poetry). These chosen pieces and many more of his stunning works will be featured in the new show, opening June 23rd at the reception and running through October.
Sarkis is an internationally and nationally renowned artist, award- winner and Oregon ArtBeat featured artist. His evocative work, in any medium he chooses, is expressive and full of life and color and demands that one stops and takes notice. He has now published two books and continues to paint prolifically on his and his wife Karen’s acreage in Cheshire, OR.This is a true Allied Arts event: poetry, art, music, literature, plus culinary delights/wine served. Held at country gallery Studio 7 Gallery & Events, 87230 Central Rd., Eugene, OR. 97402. Also introducing a new artist, N.C. Skoog and featuring his “Men’s Group” collection in oils, plus new artwork from Plein air artist Margaret Plumb, and new work from hand-painted photographer Bob Keefer.
