Spring Break Sewing Workshop – A Creative & Fun Learning Experience!

📍 Location: G Street Fabrics, Rockville, MD
⏳ Session Length: 2.5 hours per day

👩‍🎨 Age Groups:

• Group 1: Ages 8 – 10 | 10:30 AM - 1 PM
• Group 2: Ages 11 – 13 | 2 PM - 4:30 PM
• Group 3: Ages 14 – 18 | 5PM - 7:30 PM

This Spring Break, spark your child's creativity and introduce them to the world of sewing! G Street Fabrics is excited to offer a hands-on Spring Break Sewing Workshop where students will learn essential sewing techniques while designing and constructing their very own custom T-shirt.

Over four engaging days, students will: ✔ Understand sewing basics: Learn how to use sewing tools, measure fabric, and master machine stitching.
✔ Practice garment construction: Follow a T-shirt pattern, cut fabric accurately, and assemble pieces like a pro.
✔ Explore customization techniques: Add personal flair with fabric paints, stamps, decorative stitching, and embellishments.
✔ Showcase their creativity: Participate in a fun Spring Break Fashion Showcase on the final day, modeling their unique creations.

🔹 Day 1: Introduction to Sewing

• Getting to know sewing tools and materials
• Learning fabric measurements and seam allowances
• Practicing cutting and sewing straight stitches

🔹 Day 2: T-Shirt Construction

• Understanding and working with patterns
• Pinning, stitching, and exploring seam finishes
• Sewing the main components of the T-shirt

🔹 Day 3: Customization & Personalization

• Finalizing the garment structure
• Adding design elements like hems, trims, and decorative stitching
• Preparing for the creative showcase

🔹 Day 4: Fashion & Presentation

• Collaborating with fashion experts to add final touches
• Personalizing T-shirts with fabric paints and embellishments
• Spring Break Fashion Showcase: Students model their designs and celebrate their work!
