DTU Sailing and KØS announces: The Student Sailing Cup - For Students, By Students
DTU Sailing and KØS invite you to the student sailing cup 2026. We aim to expand the student sailing community in Denmark, and we are therefore hoping to see you for a weekend with racing the 22nd to 23rd of August.
The racing will be done in J/70s in a league format, meaning that boats are provided for teams. Saturday and Sunday are racing days, with Friday as possible training day. A social dinner will be held on Saturday evening.
We are aiming for 12 teams, 4-5 people are allowed per team. One person pr. team is allowed to be a non-student. Students must be currently enrolled at a university or other higher education institution.
The entry price is 400 DKK, and it will include a socail dinner Saturday evening.
Participants are responsible for their own accommodations during the event.
At least one member per team should be part of a sailing club under the Danish Sailing Association, or a similar international association.
We hope that you will join the event! NoR will be sent out as soon as possible.
If you are interested in joining, or have any questions, feel free to send an email to [email protected] or make a post on the Facebook event.

Practical Information
------------------------------------------------------
Location:
The cup will take place in “Svanemøllen Bugten”, Copenhagen. The “race village” where we will meet and share a base is at “Svaneknoppen” not far from the “KØS Sejlsport” clubhouse. A more detailed address will be announced a few days before the event starts.
Transportation:
Transportation through Copenhagen City is easy by bike and we recommend borrowing a bike or renting one from one of several companies (Donkey Republic, Voi etc.).
The nearest S-train stop is Svanemøllen Station (taking your bike on the S-train is free) and from here it's an 11 minute walk to Svaneknoppen.
Accommodations:
We have made no arrangements for accommodation, and it is entirely up to you to find a place to stay.
Storage of Luggage:
We will ensure that you can keep your luggage safely stored in the race village during racing periods.
Lunch:
You are responsible for your own lunch Saturday and Sunday. There is a restaurant very close and Wolt will surely bring food out, but we recommend packing lunch from home so you can spontaneously eat while not racing and still cheer for the other teams.
League Racing:
J/70 boats will be out on the water at all times along with two judges. The teams will race against each other in turn. In every race the teams will score points depending on their finishing position. All teams will have their base in the “Race Village” while not racing, and once it's their turn to race they will sail out in RIBs to replace the team currently in the J/70.
In the end all teams should have raced each other several times in different constellations and the team with the most points win the cup.
A detailed racing schedule and set of rules will be announced close the start of the event.
Power Boat Certifikat:
Since the teams will be transporting themselves by RIBs, a power boat certificate is needed to be allowed to steer them by Danish law. Therefore please remember to bring such a certificate if you have one and inform us beforehand when registering for the event.
Price and registration:
The price per person is 400 DKK, which covers use of the J/70’s, RIB’s, “Molebajer” and the dinner on Saturday evening. A team registers by sending an email to [email protected], whereafter you will receive the number for a Mobilepay Box to pay the entry fee. The latest signup is Sunday the 9th of August. If you don’t have a full team, but would like to join, you can also send an email, and we can help you assemble one.
