Student and Staff Research Conference 2026

Building on the success of the previous six years, we are pleased to announce . The event will provide a platform for students and staff to come together, share their findings, and celebrate. In addition to showcasing the excellent work being carried out within our research community, we also hope to foster future collaborative and interdisciplinary partnerships.

This year's theme reflects London Met's commitment to supporting impactful research: bringing about change for the benefit of our community, our city and the world.

The conference is organised by the Postgraduate Research Student and Staff Liaison Forum in cooperation with the Graduate School and the Research and Postgraduate Office.

Our two-day event features 15-minute talks and 3-minute lightning presentations with poster spots, delivered by students and staff from London Met's research community.

We are delighted to announce that this year's conference will also feature:

• two keynote speakers: Alan Rusbridger, former editor-in-chief of the Guardian and Pulitzer Prize winner, and Prof. Úna Fairbrother, London Met's Deputy Dean for Academic Staff Development
• a research impact workshop for PGR students, delivered by Dr Diane Smith, London Met's Research and Knowledge Exchange Impact Manager
• a valedictory lecture by Prof. Klaus Fischer, Head of the Graduate School, on his academic journey
• an address from our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Julie Hall

The conference will take place in the Graduate Centre at our Holloway Road campus, room GC1-08. There will be tea, coffee, and lunch on the day.
