After a successful first Southampton's Strongest last weekend, we're excited to announce "The Strongest Shoulder in the South"! September 21st. Come and stake your claim for the most dominant delts. At the home of the legendary log lifter Aaron Page, what better place to prove your pressing prowess.
We'll have 4 classes for this one: Men and Women's Novices and Men and Women's Opens, with the winners of the latter claiming the title of having the Strongest Shoulders in the South!
Events:
Max Log Press. Of course we had to include this one! We'll be running this rising bar style. 5kg jumps for women's categories and 10kg jumps for the men's. You can skip attempts, but once you fail a lift (60s time limit) you are out! Heaviest successful lift is your score.
Crucifix Hold. Time to really get those shoulders burning. Holding on for as long as you can, fighting through the pain with your arms straightened out to the sides.
Circus DB Ladder. We've collected some lovely circus dumbbells at the gym, but they're mainly being used for grip training... Who fancies pressing them? Split time scores on each DB.
Mystery Event. Get a move on. Maybe we'll release more details on this... Maybe we won't.
Viking Press for Reps. Time to finish whatever's left of your shoulders! We'll release rough weights soon, but we're not looking to make this super heavy given it's at the end of the comp.
