Strong For Life: The Science of Ageing
What actually happens to our bodies as we age — and, more importantly, what can we do about it?
Join us at MD Strength for an afternoon exploring the science of ageing, strength and physical health.
We’re teaming up with Healthy Bodies Principal Physio, Chris Seville, to help you understand the changes that occur as we get older and what we can do to maintain strength, mobility, physical capacity and independence throughout life.
🧠 What will we cover?
We’ll explore the Science of Ageing, including:
• What happens to our muscles, bones, strength and physical capacity as we age
• Why maintaining strength becomes increasingly important throughout adulthood
• The role of resistance training in healthy ageing
• How we can maintain mobility, balance and independence
• What we can do to minimise the effects of ageing
• How to approach strength training safely and effectively at different stages of life
There will also be a practical component, where we’ll introduce the fundamentals of the deadlift and demonstrate how strength training can be applied in a practical setting.
👋 Who is this for?
You do not need to be experienced in strength training to attend.
Whether you already lift weights, are thinking about getting started, or simply want to understand more about how to look after your body as you get older, this seminar is designed to provide practical, evidence-based information you can take away and use.
